Ricoh wins highest environmental gold rating in EcoVadis survey

EcoVadis, the French CSR performance monitoring agency, has awarded Ricoh its highest gold rating in a sustainability survey it conducted.

EcoVadis assesses suppliers from 99 countries and across 150 business sectors on corporate policies, initiatives and achievements in areas concerning the environment, labour practices, fair business practices, and supply chain. Ricoh submitted its sustainability data to EcoVadis for evaluation and was ranked in the top 10 percent of all companies surveyed.

Many global companies are eager to improve both their own sustainability record, and sustainability in their supply chain as well. In fact, the sustainability performance of suppliers has become an important factor for supplier selection.

‘Our customers increasingly request our sustainability credentials as part of their supplier selection process,’ said Jacques van Wyk, COO at Ricoh SA.

Ricoh is committed to continuous efforts for sustainable growth for the Earth, society, and business. Ricoh SA consistently supports rhino relocation at South African National Parks’ (SANParks) Kruger National Park in aid of anti-poaching efforts. It also supports The Love of Christ Children’s Home caring for abandoned and orphaned children, many living with HIV. Chris de Beer, business development manager head of product marketing at Ricoh SA, is also cycling from London to Barcelona in 2015 to raise funds for Kruger Park’s Veterinary Wildlife Services and UK Liver Institute as part of Ricoh’s European and African Imagine Change Challenge.
