DScoop ignites innovation

From June 3 to 5, digital print specialists worldwide will be flocking to DScoop Open 2015, happening at the Dublin Convention Centre, Ireland. Dubbed the biggest EMEA conference for the graphic arts industry, this annual event has established itself as the essential platform for printers wishing to come together and learn about latest technologies, industry trends, new applications and best practice. Now in its fourth year, the highly-interactive three-day event includes 50 partner stands, 30 educational seminars and three keynote speakers, including HP Indigo division vice-president and general manager, Alon Bar-Shany. Julian Marsh (DScoop EMEA conference chairman) and Roberto Budelo (Dscoop EMEA membership manager) joined Kemtek’s expert team recently in hosting three special roadshows in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, sharing their DScoop experiences with local digital printers and demonstrating the benefits of joining the global DScoop community. Creating a special local ‘vibe’ in each region, much-loved South African comedian, Barry Hilton, was also on hand, adding his unique brand of humour and chatting with guests. ‘We’re expecting up to 1200 visitors to DScoop Open 2015,’ remarked Julian Marsh. ‘A special draw card is the “Solutions Showcase”, a dedicated 4500sqm exhibition space featuring 50 international exhibitors. Highlights include nine presses on the HP Indigo stand – two HP Indigo 7800 A3 sheetfed systems, a 5600, two B2-format 10000’s, the ground-breaking 20000 and 30000 packaging systems, and an HP Indigo WS6800 digital press for high-volume labels,’ he continued. ‘Another main attraction is the comprehensive conference programme, designed to inspire, educate and promote idea sharing. Rather than having single-speaker sessions, we’re mixing things up and making it more exciting and engaging, with panel discussions that encourage debate and further enquiry. Visitors can also access an all-new “Tell Your Story” kit – a 12-week step-by-step sales programme, from planning to sales conversion and lead tracking.’ On day one, HP is also hosting trips to various local printing firms, providing visitors with the opportunity to watch the latest, innovative digital printing technologies in action. ‘As a printing business owner myself, I’m often asked what makes me choose HP,’ related Julian. ‘Well, besides world-class printing systems and support, it’s DScoop of course! And the annual conference never disappoints in providing inspiration, unique content and valuable business contacts. In short, it encourages printers from all market sectors to look at technology differently,’ he concluded.
