Xerox takes local trade show by storm

The recent signage show in Johannesburg proved to be a resounding success for Xerox and Bytes Document Solutions with numerous sales orders being received on the first two days of the show. The first sale was that of a Xerox 1000 Digital Production Press to Nyalu Communications in Johannesburg on Wednesday 21 August, the first day of the show.

Xerox took the opportunity of the show to demonstrate a number of its printing and software solutions. Also on the stand was the launch of the IJP2000 large-format inkjet printer. This device is the fastest large-format colour printer on the market, capable of printing a full A0 sheet in just five seconds in full and vibrant colour. The indoor poster printer was only launched onto the market at Fespa in London two months ago. On the second day of the show, Xerox announced the sale of the very first IJP2000 in Africa to Zambian company Digiprint.

Digiprint is the Xerox dealer and was so impressed with IJP2000 that it immediately ordered one for its show room. The biggest news of the show was also announced on second day of the show with the revelation that Xerox Production Systems Group had sold the first Xerox iGen 150 press in the Middle East and Africa region to REN-FORM. The Xerox iGen 150 was only launched at Drupa last year. The machine will be installed and operational by the end of September. Commenting on the successes achieved at the show, Charl Vogel, National Sales for the Production Systems Group said, ‘It is always very encouraging to be able to sign some orders at a show. Everyone knows that most of the sales are based on many months of behind the scenes activity, but it is still gratifying that clients are putting their faith in us and our products.’
