ABOUT THE COMPANY:
manroland Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd sells and services sheetfed and webfed printing presses, pre-press and post-press equipment and supplies spare parts and consumables for the printing industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
• The sheetfed division is a strategic business unit within manroland, where our service to customers includes, among other things: the sale of new and used presses, the provision of spare parts, classic call-out repair service as well as maintenance contracts for printing presses. Together with our German principal, manroland Sheetfed GmbH, we also provide solutions that are based on customer-specific concepts for upgrades and retrofits that optimally prepare all printing systems for the future.

• The Print Instructor is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilising excellent communication and interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge of company products. Responsibilities include training and demonstrating technical aspects pertaining to the operation of manroland presses to our customers’ personnel, so as to improve their competence. The hands-on nature of the role makes it necessary for the candidate to have prior experience in operating sheetfed offset presses.

• The successful candidate will report directly to the Service Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Print Demonstration, Training and Service Support:
• Commissioning of sheetfed presses.
• Training customers’ personnel how to operate a sheetfed press after it is commissioned.
• Continuous support (demonstrations and training) to our customers’ machine operators.
• Integrate printing machines and their components into existing systems, carry out their initial operation and test, optimise and adjust functions. Carry out and document printing inspections, explaining how it works to customers.
• Support and advice for customers and service partners to improve machine availability through suitable service products (e.g. better operating options, longer maintenance intervals, upgrades and more economical use of resources). Advice on customer-specific solutions.
• Carrying out error diagnoses to determine the causes of printing-related issues. Diagnose and specify errors, as well as analyse malfunctions. Suggest corrective measures and implement them, where necessary.
• Attend to customer calls and breakdowns.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Relevant post-matric qualification.
• Relevant and adequate experience in the printing industry.
• Proven sheetfed press operator experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service sheetfed printing machines.
• Ability to work flexible work shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
