Canon used Fespa Africa as the first opportunity to show the ImagePress C800 outside of Europe. The device will only have its North American launch later this year. The Canon ImagePress C800 is the latest addition to the Canon range of colour production presses designed to achieve high-quality application-specific print. It has been designed to meet the challenges of a busy production environment and combines high image quality with powerful productivity and application versatility across a range of media. It can handle everything from short runs through to complex variable data work. It can also work in conjunction with other devices in the ImagePress range to achieve combined full-colour and monochrome printed materials. Using Canon’s newly-developed toner it delivers higher image quality and more vibrant colours in addition to the ability to match a wider gamut of colours. The full range of Canon ImagePress devices was shown on the stand at Fespa Africa. Such was the importance of this show to Canon that the decision was taken not only to launch the C800 before other markets, but also to being highly-skilled and knowledgeable trainers and demonstrators for The United Kingdom to South Africa to show off the capabilities of the machine at the show and to educate local staff on the technical aspects of the machine.
