Widasla Technologies is marking 21 years of service to the printing industry and members of the sector are invited to join the celebrations at Widasla’s Open House and Birthday Bash on 13th August.

From its humble beginnings as a two-man engineering startup to a global exporter, Widasla’s history reflects continuous evolution and expansion:

2004: Founded by Dou Fourie and engineer David Sedeane, operating primarily as an engineering firm for its first eight years.

2012: Partnered with BBR Graphics as its exclusive South African agent, shifting focus to sourcing and exporting second-hand equipment before expanding into the domestic second-hand sheetfed press market.

October 2020: Diversified operations during the pandemic by launching Widasla Finishing Systems, co-founded by Dou Fourie and Antony Breddy.

March 2021: Expanded its footprint with the official launch of the Cape Town branch.

October 2022: Established a Durban presence under General Manager Lukas Beukes, rapidly scaling from a home garage to a 120 sqm unit, and subsequently to larger facilities.

2024: Exhibited at drupa 2024 and secured the exclusive South African dealership for Böttcher rollers, complementing its core offset refurbishment business with premium global consumables.
